In memory of Jason Molina: Support for Ashley Allen

My name is Glen Allen & I’m helping raise funds for my ex-wife, Ashley Allen. My stepson, Jason Kyle Molina, passed away on 1/24/26, two days after his 22nd birthday. To say this is a shock is an understatement. My ex-wife’s world and livelihood have been shattered, not just from the loss of our son but she is now without an income due to this loss. See, Jason was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, had epileptic seizures that were under control, as well as undiagnosed autism. Ashley has been his caregiver as her only form of income along with what little he received from social security for the last 4-5 years. I’m asking for any and all financial assistance for her so she can grieve without having to worry about money. The loss of a child would affect anyone, but when your livelihood is also linked to & dependent upon caring for your child, it’s a greater shock. So please, if you have a little extra to spare in these difficult times, I’m asking for your generosity from one person to another to help Jason’s mom be able to grieve her son without worry.

I wasn’t Jason’s birth father, but he will always be my son. I showed up when Jason was 8 years old. I didn’t know it yet, but you would change my life. I remember that first time meeting you, & going to see Real Steel at the dollar theatre off Bell Rd; not yet knowing what Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy was and how terrible this disease would be for you to fight your entire life, along with your epilepsy & undiagnosed autism. I first saw you walking up with your mother, this little man with the best pimp walk only you could pull off. I’d watch you climb stairs with so much determination, to watch you “run” to play with the other kids. I saw you grow into a man and have glimpses and moments of seeing you act and speak with clarity as you grew. I’m going to miss those perfect moments only you could make with your smart comments or perfectly timed quip. I’m going to miss all our little trips that we could only take with you. Our visits to the movies and how you always had to have part of your mom’s pretzel, our yearly excursion to the renaissance festival, the trips to the zoos and you being pushed down the aisle at the Phx Zoo for our wedding, all our trips to California. Your yearly week away for MDA camp up near Payson.

Love & miss you, kid. Thank you for the gift of being your father & being the best son I could have prayed and hoped for. Thank you for being the best big brother to your sister, your time and patience for her, your childlike heart you shared with her in only the way you could. Jason, I love you so much, & the world is so much brighter to me just having had you a part of my world. You made my life fulfilled and worthwhile, and I’ll always thank God for the gift of you as my son.
