Janel is someone who so many felt so deeply connected to. Her bright smile and genuine charm was  a combination that immediately drew you to her.  Her wit and laughter would fill up a room.  She is a special person and has touched the lives of so many, both young and old.  She spent over 20 years working in Adams 12 public schools. There, she spent her time doing what she did best, making people smile. She worked with kids in K-5 who adored her and couldn't wait to see what she would do next. Her teams of employees would create elaborate decorations for special occasions and create engaging experiences for kids.  The school community and students adored her. Janel is sincere, genuine, and the epitome of an angel on earth.

When Janel wasn't working, she spent her time with family and friends. Camping and connecting with the people who she loved the most were among her favorite things.  Hanging in the Mammoth Saloon, sitting by the fire, watching Bronco games, and just relaxing with people who she loved is what brought her joy.  More recently, the home projects her and Nathan ventured in together were something that brought the family much laughter and pride.

Her Husband, her soulmate, her person, Nathan, was the one who could light up her eyes. She loves him more than anything and chose to do life with him everyday. When their eyes would lock, those around could feel the love and passion. Over 21 years of precious memories spent together and none greater than their son, Wyatt.  Wyatt has the soul of a warrior and a heart of gold. He is no doubt the perfect blend of Nathan and Janel and the passion they share. Janel is a soft, loveable, no bullshit kind of mom and Wyatt knows it. She learned from the best (her mom, Deb) and executed with grace and fire.

Janel was diagnosed with cervical cancer, a very aggressive form, small cell circoma in early November of 2018.  Janel fought long and hard all while keeping a positive attitude and a full heart. Janel's courageous battle with cancer ended on October 16, 2020.

Janel is survived by her loving husband, Nathan, her son, Wyatt, their family pets Porter, Wylon, and Cash, sister, Jenise, and mother and father, Debbie and Scott Samuelson.  These funds will help the family with financial recovery and a Celebration of Life for Janel.
