I met Jana at work, when I started at Bonell Good Samaritan Society in 2015. Jana was well respected amongst her peers and loved by her residents. She attended to wound vacs, med passes, new admissions, disgruntled patients, helped CNA’s, responded to emergencies on other floors, and always made time to tuck someone in- in one shift. Her keen assessment skills, calm demeanor, and ability to deliver gold standard care to anyone she was charged with, is what earned her a place in the hearts of many. Jana’s true pride came from raising her family with her first love, Terry Messerly. Together, they had four intelligent, attractive, confident daughters that enriched and blessed their lives. The girls are adults now but just barely, and now they have to navigate the loss of their mom while planning arrangements, and much uncertainty of how to pay for it. They should be planning the kinds of events most mothers and daughters share together. Jana gave me a piece of my life back after I lost my son and it would give me great honor to do the same for her. Please consider donating, the amount is not important but it will help her girls pay for Jana’s final expenses and give them the peace, knowing how much their mom was valued and loved in her community, her workplace, and in the hearts of those she cared for.
