Jamie's world was her family and they need our help more than ever right now. Jamie Stark Cruz had a brightness about her that would light up a room. She was the life of the party and the first one to lend a hand if anyone was every in need. She lived life out loud and loved her people hard. And most importantly, she was the best wife to Chris, mom to Logan and step mom to Kayeton, Keegan and Keeley, aunt, sister, employee and friend that anyone could ever ask for.

In January 2021, what started out as a trip to the Urgent Care for a sore throat, resulted in a whirlwind of tests and ultimately a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia for our sweet 37 year old friend. Jamie started her fight immediately and always had the most positive and inspiring attitude. She did chemo and radiation treatments throughout her fight and on June 1st, she received an amazing gift- a stem cell transplant- with cells harvested from her brother, Doug. Jamie began to experience a rare side effect from her treatment making it difficult for her lungs, that had been weakened by the chemo and radiation, to fight. On July 4th, Jamie was intubated to help her regulate her breathing. On July 11th, she was placed in a medically induced coma so her body could rest and and her lungs could heal. Her family, friends, and our entire community rallied to pray for her recovery, but Jamie's body could no longer fight. On Saturday, July 24th at 5 pm, surrounded by all the ones she loved, Jamie Monique Stark Cruz passed away.
