In Memory of James "Ricky" Colquitt
Donation protected
On behalf of the Salt Peter family and everyone who loved James Colquitt we would like to raise some money to help his wife Cathy, and son Jewels with the costs incurred for end-of-life care, etc. To know James was to love him, and so I know there will be a lot of people that will be happy to have this opportunity to give back to a man who gave us so much. Besides being simultaneously the baddest (I know it's "not a word") AND the best man in any room he entered, James was a great husband, father, teacher and friend. Any time I showed up at his place he was busy helping with some thing or someone. Only James could make love and light be the coolest thing for miles in any direction. On top of all this, he was also a monster bassist and artist. If you never got the chance to experience James Colquitt's bass playing, it was as smooth as he was. Seamless. Inventive. Fun. Smart...and soul all day long. Thankfully there are a couple Salt Peter records to forever preserve his unique and powerful musical presence. Please find and crank up some Salt Peter music tonight in memory of James. It's about anywhere where music can be found.
Most of you know Cathy, James's wife, has also been battling her own health issues recently and their family has been under the financial strain that healthcare, along with being unable to work, will create. So thank you, in advance, for helping us to help Cathy and Jewels, whom he loved so fiercely.
