In Memory of Jalaiyah

Today, we gather in both heartbreak and hope. Heartbreak, because our precious Jalaiyah was taken from us far too soon. Hope, because we know that her story does not end here — it continues in the arms of Jesus Christ, where she now rests in perfect peace and radiant joy.
From the moment Jalaiyah came into this world, she filled it with light. Her laughter was contagious, her curiosity boundless, and her kindness seemed to pour out of her like sunshine after rain. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, special, and loved — a reflection, I believe, of the love of Christ shining through her young heart.
When leukemia came upon us suddenly, we were thrown into a storm none of us could have imagined. Yet even in those difficult days, Laiy showed courage beyond her years. She faced each day with faith and grace that reminded us of the words in Philippians 4:13 — “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Though her body grew weak, her spirit only grew stronger.
We prayed for healing — and though not in the way we hoped, our prayers were answered. For in God’s mysterious mercy, He has healed her completely. No more pain. No more fear. Only light, life, and the eternal love of her Savior. We can picture her now, free and whole, laughing among the angels, her eyes bright, her smile as radiant as ever.
Jesus said in John 14:2-3, “In my Father’s house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you.” I believe Laiy has found her room — beautifully prepared for her, filled with all the joy and color that matched her spirit here on earth.
And while our hearts ache in her absence, we hold on to the promise that one day, we will see her again. Until then, we carry her light within us. We honor her by loving others as deeply as she did, by finding joy in small things, by trusting that even in sorrow, God is still good.
So today, we say not goodbye, but see you later, dear Jalaiyah. You have run your race with grace. You have touched our lives forever. And though your time with us was short, your impact is eternal.
Rest in the everlasting arms of Jesus, our sweet girl — until we meet again.
We are asking for donations to cover her funeral expenses and family care during this time.
