Hi, my name is Wonbi. About a week before my 23rd birthday, on 8/2/22, my father, JaeHyuk, suffered severe brain, lung, and spine injuries from an accidental fall while installing an LED panel for work. Although he remained unconscious, he struggled very much to recover so that he could return to his beloved family and friends. However, after three weeks of a difficult journey in the ICU, he had to leave his loved ones and rest in God’s arms on 8/23/22 at such a young age of 53.

He had been a selfless, dedicated father for his entire life. He was an immigrant who fought so hard in a foreign land to support his family. My mom, brother, and I lost a cheerful husband and a respectful father. While we haven’t had enough time to come out of grief yet, with the head of household gone unexpectedly, we are faced with an extremely tough financial situation. We are having difficulty covering his funeral costs, medical bills for the three-week ICU stay, home maintenance fees, living expenses, and tuition for my brother’s and my remaining college degrees.

안녕하세요, 송재혁 집사님 딸 원비입니다. 아버지께서 8월 2일에 천장 LED 시공 작업을 하시던 도중 낙상 사고를 당하셔 뇌, 폐, 척추 등에 심각한 부상을 입으셨습니다. 그 후 3주 동안 중환자실에서 힘겹게 버티셨지만 결국 8월 23일 밤 만 53세라는 젊은 나이에 하나님의 품으로 돌아가셨습니다.

아버지는 희생적이고 헌신적인 분으로 평생을 살아오셨습니다. 가진 것 하나 없이 당도한 낯선 땅에서 아버지는 이민자의 몸으로 가족을 위해 늘 애쓰셨습니다. 어머니, 오빠, 그리고 저는 든든하고 존재만으로 힘이 되는 남편, 또 아버지를 갑작스럽게 잃게 되어 큰 슬픔에 잠겨 있습니다. 그러나 저희는 아직 슬픔에서 채 빠져나오지도 못한 채 경제적인 어려움에 직면하게 되었습니다. 3주간의 중환자실 입원으로 인한 병원비, 장례식 비용, 집세, 생활비, 그리고 오빠와 저의 학비를 마련해야 하는 상황 속에서 부디 위로의 손길들과 기도로 저희 가족이 이 상황을 잘 이겨낼 수 있도록 도와주세요. 감사합니다.
