In Memory of Jacob Humay
I struggled with finding the words to create this and decided to stop overthinking and just be transparent. On Monday my family received news my cousin Jacob ( far right in picture ) had tragically passed away after losing his battle to addiction. As you may or may not know my career as a clinical therapist I am exposed to these matters daily but nothing I learned in school or in any clinical setting prepared me for this moment. There are no words I have learned to ease the pain to those left behind by his sudden death ; my Aunt Liz ( who is probably one of the strongest women I have ever met) or Jacob’s two younger brothers Gabe and Jesse.
Jacob like many was out of work due to Covid and like many others struggled more than ever this past year. As with any death there is a ripple effect that effects all those who were connected to the person.
I just want to assist with the financial costs of Jacob’s funeral expenses at this time to take at least some burden away from my Aunt and his brothers during this time . All of the money donated will go directly to my Aunt to pay for Jacob’s funeral expenses. If you are compelled to donate my family appreciates this more than I could ever verbally say . If at the moment you are unable to donate please just keep us in your thoughts . Addiction is a battle we must fight as a collective whole . Even you taking the time to read through this connects us and I thank you .
