Thank you all for taking the time out to read this…
Hello everyone, my name is Iesha King and tragically my 17-year-old daughter, Iyana (Smoochie) Roberson, passed away in a late-night vehicle car crash that caught on fire. She was with her big sister and two friends at the time of the incident. Both my daughters and one of their friend was still in the burning car, her sister was able to  heroically get her out of the burning vehicle to safety. Despite waiting a long time for emergency responders, she was still aware and conscious, still talking to her sister and bystanders, asking, “Can you call my mom?” Finally she was taken to Children’s Hospital, where she was soon sedated because of the severity of her burns. She fought so hard for 20 long days against severe burns covering majority of her body. Unfortunately, she was called home on October 23rd. Iyana would have been 18 years old a day after her passing. Still just a kid, life cut short.
My beloved daughter (the 3rd oldest) was one of the kindest souls you could ever meet. Most people know her as Iyana Roberson; to us, she was our Smoochie, a shy, beautiful, silly, sweet girl. Her personal motto was “always be kind,” and she lived by it every day. She had a warm, big smile that could light up any room, with bright eyes full of life, and always wore her hair in her own unique styles and colors that reflected her vibrant personality. If her hair wasn’t done, she didn’t feel like herself. She was very hardworking and didn’t play about being on time, whether being picked up or dropped off. She never missed a chance to show love to her siblings. Her big sister was her best friend, and they shared countless moments filled with laughter and genuine love. She loved keeping up with life and brought joy to everyone around her, always taking selfies and making videos. She deeply valued her parents and siblings so much (she leaves behind 8). Very family-oriented and well-mannered. We have a long journey ahead with only memories and pictures to remember her by.
We are heartbroken beyond words. I still can’t believe I’m writing this about my baby. October 3rd (day of the incident) broke me; October 23rd has me lost. Smoochie was so young and had so much more to offer to the world. She definitely didn’t deserve this. We are trying to be strong and come together at this incredibly difficult time. The funds I’m asking to be raised will help cover funeral expenses and provide support for her siblings who miss her dearly. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a difference.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
