In Memory of India Clinton Metcalf

In August of 2024, my mother, India Clinton Metcalf, was diagnosed with Stage 3 stomach cancer at the age of 45. She immediately began her fight, starting with chemotherapy treatment, new nutrition plan, and an overall completely new life. My mother did 3 months of chemo treatments before she had surgery to completely remove her stomach because of the tumors. After her surgery, she went through another 3 months of chemo treatments. In March of this year, 2025, she went into remission and was told by doctors she was cancer-free. My mother had beaten the disease and rang the bell as a cancer survivor.

Just after our family vacation to Gatlinburg in May, my mother began to feel sick again. Not even 2 full months after her remission, doctors told her that her cancer had returned and was now Stage 4 and was in her liver. She was then rushed right back into chemotherapy treatments. After 2 months of treatments, on August 18, just 4 days after her 46th birthday, doctors told her that her cancer had become so aggressive that they were no longer going to continue with treatment, and that there was no longer anything they could do for her. At that moment she was told that she now had just 6 months to live.

My mother lived in pain for almost 2 weeks after her 6-month prognosis before she was then rushed back to the hospital on August 30. She was given medical treatment for vital organ failure and lack of nutrients. Not even 24 hours later, on August 31 around 3 pm, my mother passed away and was taken to live with the Lord, leaving behind her husband, her 3 children, her mother, her siblings, and hundreds and hundreds of loving family members and friends who cared, prayed, supported, and walked alongside her throughout her entire journey.

India was loved by so many who she loved even more in return. This fundraiser is a commemoration in honoring her life and the love that she gave to us all.

All donations will go towards covering funeral expenses, supporting monthly medical bills, supporting bills for her business, and providing the family with financial assistance during this difficult time. We are grateful for any donations, whether big or small, and any contribution makes a difference in supporting the family.
