On September 27, 2020 Illias Mohamed Alhassane passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness. Illias grew up in Agadez, Niger and went on to travel the world performing as Bombino's rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist. Funds from this campaign will be used to help support his family, including his wife and young daughter, in this difficult time.

Illias' smile and spirit will live on forever. He touched many lives through his beautiful music and has left an indelible mark on the world. His friends and family mourn his loss and will never forget the joy and beautiful music he contributed to the world.
