In Memory of Haven

On June 22, 2022, our beloved 20-month-old daughter passed away in her sleep. Unfortunately, the autopsy returned inconclusively, and additional lab work was sent for further research to determine the cause of her death. Our family mourns for the loss of our daughter and hopes for some closure to understand our daughter's death soon. We are raising money for Haven's funeral with any additional money donated directly to SUDC Foundation, Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood which is assumed to be the case. SUDC is a catergory in death of children that is very rare and occurs in about 1 in every 100,000 children between 1 to 18 years old. SUDC Foundation is the only foundation that promotes awareness and research to support those affected by this. Anything will help and we thank you in advance for your generosity and prayers.

 

Haven is an adorable, cute, smart girl who loves eating fruits and pancakes. She likes building blocks and dancing to Cocomelon, especially Wheels-on-the-Bus imitating with hand motions. She loves balloons, her bunny and bear plush dolls, and her favorite chevron blanket. She likes to say "Umma (mom), Appa (dad), Hal-mi (Grandmother), Hal-bi (grandfather) and let's not forget her favorite word to describe everything, "Wow.." She loves to tie her hair in two ponytails with occasionally braided hair. She loves her books and has the skill to identify any animal that we say.

 

She has the charm to brighten up the room wherever she is. Her constant happiness and laughter always brings people together, always waving at people she randomly meets. She has a tendacity to give thumbs up for things she loves and waves at daddy saying "buh-bye" when he goes to work in the morning.

 

We love her so much and hope that she is resting peacefully in Heaven with her grandpa. Although we are heartbroken, her presence left an imprint on everybody that she came in contact with. If there was ever a living angel, she would definitely be the most adorable.

 

Coincidently on her passing day, during a week of high 80-degree weather, it heavily rained unexpectedly only for a short period of time from when she was found to when she left. There was also a loud single thunder noise after the rain as she was transported to the local coroner's station. It is my belief that during the time of rain, God had lifted her soul up to the Sky and the sound of thunder to open the Gates of Heaven. The sunshine came through over the clouds and the rain soon disappeared.

 

Our sweet baby angel, may you rest in peace and be our guardian. We hope that you are running around happily with your new friends in Heaven. A day does not go by not missing you. We love you and miss you so much…
