If anyone knew Harold McCaffrey then you’ll know what a lovely man he was. Local to New Brighton Harold & his dog Alfie were street homeless for the last 3 years. Harold had nobody to look after him & I have been trying to help him recently find housing & trying to support him as best I could. I like many of you only knew Harold from him sitting outside Morrison’s, where he had become a permanent fixture. Harold loved to chat to everyone & often your conversations would brighten his day. He always had lovely stories of people who bought him & Alfie food or a blanket or dog bed. He was always truly grateful. As is Harold would have to have a poorpers funeral with nobody present. I would love us to be able to change that.

Harold,many years ago,bought a burial plot in Landican, Where he laid his parents to rest. His wishes were always to be buried with his mum & dad. This will be possible & The lovely funeral directors at Owens in Liscard can help me to arrange. It does come at a cost.

If Harold is going to get the most basic of funerals then I need to raise in the region of £2500. This pays for opening up the grave. A short service & the burial.

If you could donate anything towards this, Harold would be laid to rest in peace.

If you donate but I can’t raise the total money then whatever is in the fund will be given to a homeless organisation in Birkenhead called Hope for the Hungry. These guys feed & help many people in the same situation as Harold found himself in.

If by your kind generosity I raise more than needed. The monies over will be split between Hope for the Hungry & Alfie.

Alfie is being taken care of by a lovely lady who has already been doing everything for Alfie out of her own pocket.

At all times you will only need to contact me & I can tell you about the funds so that it is completely transparent & you know where your money is going.

Hello all little update this is
Alannah Jackson Cheryl has trusted me with the money (it will be going in to my bank account) to sort out harold's funeral as she is away until the 24th of this month. she knows i am a member of the hope for the hungry team and a trusted friend

Any money left over from the funeral costs will be going to Hope For The Hungry Birkenhead they are a community interest company (CIC 11018197) that help people in need like harold every single day
