In memory of Haji Golam Kabir (Sadqah Jariyah)

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un

"Verily we belong to Allah, and verily to Him do we return."

Our beloved father, Haji Golam Kabir, sadly passed away from COVID-19 during the holy month of Ramadan on 16th May 2020 (Ramadan, 23, 1441 AH).

Throughout his life, he was well known far and wide as completely selfless, kind and giving. He devoted most of his time to his faith and charities and lifted his community, always helping those who were less fortunate than him.

Born in 1928, he moved from Bangladesh to the U.K. in the 1960’s with the hopes of a better life for his wife and children, he gave us all everything he could. He ensured we learned the essentials, to be caring, to help those in need and forgive others. He was what kept us together during difficult times, now that he has passed, his teachings have become more important than ever- our means to move forward.

Our father was one of a kind, he truely was a special man who has touched so many hearts. He was loved by all who knew him. He would light up every room he walked in, and always gave out positive vibes with his majestic smile. He would always put others first and one of his favourite things to do was to feed people! You could never leave his house without eating! He was so kind and welcoming to anybody who entered his home.

His love for his 8 children, and 19 grandchildren was so pure. He was the most happiest when he was surrounded by all of his children and grandchildren. We pray and thank Allah everyday to have blessed us with the most precious, kind and loving father. His love and prayers kept us all close together and made our family bond stronger.

We have started this GoFundMe page so that we can give Sadqah Jariyah in his name to build water wells, donate to mosques, orphanages and hospitals in Bangladesh to help those in need. Sadaqah Jariyah is the act of giving in charity that is continuous. From providing sustainable water solutions, that gives people clean water day after day, to sending a child to school to change their future, to supporting an orphan with regular sponsorship, giving Sadaqah Jariyah is a beautiful commitment.
