In Memory of Gustavo Martinez

The Martinez family, with immense pain, mourns the unexpected loss of Mr. Gustavo Martinez, a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and friend, after a tragedy on June 2nd in Midland, Texas.

 

The family is collecting donations to lay Mr. Martinez to rest in Bakersfield, CA and organize a beautiful celebration to commemorate his legacy.

 

Gustavo Martinez leaves behind beautiful daughters—Hiedi and Nexie; His parents, Lola y Beto. Siblings, Albert, Claudia, and Jenni; Nephews, nieces, and countless friends and loved ones.

 

Gus was tenacious and carried an unmatched appetite for life.  No matter the challenge, Gus always rose to the occasion. He was incredibly intelligent, kind, personable, artistic, understanding, and most of all, FUNNY. Full of life. He was that type of person you could always count on and he was always willing to lend a listening ear. 

 

Although our beloved Gus was taken too soon at only 38, the family finds solace knowing that in Gus’s final days he was incredibly happy, aligned, and set to accomplish many of his life goals on earth.

 

One of those goals was being back on the rig, which he loved so much. Mr. Martinez carried over a decade of highly skilled and trained experience in the field. Known as “Mr. Safety Guy” by his friends and family, he always shared his passion for working in the oil fields with all.

 

There are no words to describe this tragedy; we are saddened to our core. Gus was the heart of the family and will be sorely missed.

 

The family finds peace in knowing that Gus accepted and completed God’s mission on earth. However, the knowledge, wisdom, and love he imparted to others will continue to be carried on by those that loved him.
