In Loving Memory of Godwin “Murphy” Oboh

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Godwin Oboh, lovingly known as “Murphy” to his friends and family. Born in Edo State, Nigeria, and raised in the close-knit town of Ubiaja, Godwin came to the United States in 1977 to pursue his studies at New York University.

A devout Christian, a loving husband, a dedicated father of eight, and a proud grandfather of eleven, Godwin’s life was defined by his unwavering faith and his deep love for his family. For 41 beautiful years, he shared an unbreakable bond with his wife, his partner, and the heart of their home. Together, they weathered life’s challenges and celebrated its joys, raising a family built on love, strength, and faith.

Those who knew Godwin will remember his warm smile, contagious laughter, and generous spirit. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer guidance to younger generations, and open his heart to anyone in need. His co-workers of 15 years became like family, and he welcomed them into his life’s milestones with open arms. To his siblings, his friends, and his community, he was a source of wisdom, reliability, and compassion.

Godwin leaves behind an immeasurable impact on his family, friends, the Nigerian community, and everyone blessed to know him.
