Hello, my name is Irene, the daughter of Gloria. I am the middle child of 3, with my brother Richard Jr. being the oldest, and my sister Cathy being the youngest. We would like to sadly announce the sudden passing of our mom, Gloria Chastain (11-26-1954 - 04-09-2025). She will be dearly missed by her family and loved ones. Words cannot express the pain we feel. She was one of a kind.Always showed love to people, and had a forgiving spirit. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother in law ,sister, aunt, cousin, and a friend .She was a long time resident of Oxnard,Ca.Graduated Santa Clara high school, class of ‘73.
She was a county worker in elections in Ventura County for many years. She started her life in Visalia when she met Danny, her late deceased husband. She then worked in Tulare County in the recorder's office. Her hobby, which she loved and picked up from Danny, was founding and starting the Impalas car club, Tulare chapter. They were two out of the 5 that help start up the club back in 2009.She was full of life and enjoyed their 1962 Impala SS. Her favorite places to shop were Hobby Lobby, Torrid, and Lane Bryant. She loved Disney and especially tinker bell. She was a collector for 40 years. In her later years, she loved to watch movies on TV as well as play casino games on her cell phone. If she could be anywhere, she’d be at the casino. She loved her three dogs, Charlie, Cha-Cha and China. Oldies and old school music was her forte. She would always bob her head in the car. Her most recent trip was to Disneyland, with her daughters and grandchildren, which is a memory we will cherish. She loved all her grandchildren, and she will forever leave an imprint on their hearts. She was the hip grandma.
As our family prepares and makes arrangements for her services, we have to deal with the costs of unprepared expenses. We would greatly appreciate any amount and prayers if you are able to help us come together as a family to celebrate Gloria.
