In Memory of Glenn Carlson

In Glenn's memory and at his request, in lieu of flowers and other gifts, please consider making a donation to Michael Kandela and his church in Lusaka, Zambia, the Grace Training International Bible Institute and Grace Gospel Bible Church.

Glenn and Michael first met when Glenn went on mission to the Grace Training International Bible Institute in Zambia in 2014. He and Michael were roommates during that mission and bonded over their shared belief that the Lord was using both men to teach and educate others of His word.

Glenn visited Michael a second time in Zambia, and during that trip, was so inspired by Michael's story as an orphan and his commitment to his faith that Glenn decided to sponsor Michael's education in the form of a Master's Degree in Linguistics, which Michael went on to achieve with Glenn's support.

The two men shared a strong friendship and believed that only by the grace of God would their paths cross and shared a mutual belief that they honor God in their teaching and ministry. Michael shared many pictures with Glenn of his travels throughout Zambia and kept him updated about his preaching and his growing congregation over the years.

Glenn and Michael's last video call together occurred in February 2024 and lasted over two hours as the (now) old friends shared light moments and memories together, and listened intently to one another about Glenn's prison ministry in Wisconsin and Minnesota and Michael's growing church in Lusaka. During this last call, Michael showed Glenn a recent picture of members of his congregation, to which Glenn responded, "A very nice group of people, Michael! I really like the way you are able to share the truth of the word of God with this many people. I am praying for you! Grow these people in HIS reality, as the Word of God clarifies growth in His Son, Christ Jesus.' That was Glenn's last message to Michael.

Michael mourns the passing of his good friend but knows that they will meet again in the future in glory.
