On Wednesday, November 19, our dear friend Angela and her family experienced a heartbreaking and unexpected loss. George passed away suddenly, leaving everyone devastated and facing financial hardship they were not prepared for.

This loss comes after several incredibly difficult years for Angela’s family. They have endured major health challenges, the loss of loved ones, and constant financial strain, yet through every setback, they’ve stayed strong and kept going, even when they were barely making ends meet.

Both Angela and George were on disability support, and with his passing, the household will now lose the income George contributed. Disability assistance already provides far below the cost of living, so the loss of that support places an enormous burden on the family at the hardest possible time.

The immediate cost of George’s cremation is $1,600, which Angela cannot afford right now. She would also love to hold a modest but heartfelt celebration of life to honour him properly.

George was an unforgettable person, genuinely funny, always joking, always finding a way to make people smile. Even during his own challenges, he brought humour and warmth into the lives of everyone around him. His family wants to honour that spirit in a way that reflects who he truly was.
