In memory of George Hickey
Donation protected
George Hickey started out with leukemia about 7 years ago. He fought that battle and was successful. Unfortunately, his cancer returned with a vengeance as Stage 4 lung cancer. His only chance to beat this cancer was to try an experimental treatment known as CART-T. He was admitted to Brigham and Women's on July 19, 2022, for treatment. After a bumpy ride, he was declared cancer free after six weeks, we celebrated that fact. Unfortunately, he had severe scar tissue buildup in his lungs which caused one lung to completely shut down and only allowed 25% capacity in the remaining lung. Since George was admitted he has suffered breathing issues and was in and out of ICU and had dozens of medical procedures trying to stabilize him. He eventually developed double pneumonia and started having heart trouble. This man fought valiantly, mostly for his 16-year-old son, Owen. Unfortunately, George lost his battle today, December 29, 2022, at 12:35 pm. Rhonda, Owen's mom, was holding his hand as he passed and promised George to be the best Mom she could be and to try to fill his shoes as best she can. George was a United States Air Force veteran who proudly and honorably served his country for 6 years. George and his family need some help to cover funeral expenses. George deserves to leave this world for heaven with the best service we can provide. If anyone has the means to contribute to the funeral cost of a hard-working, patriotic, amazing Dad and friend, it would be greatly appreciated. Any amount will help cover the costs. This would mean the world to his son, Owen and his family. Thank you and God bless.
