Late in the evening of August 14, 2020, the lives of the Chinea family changed completely. Lauren, a school teacher and mother of two, woke up to the news that her husband, George, had been involved in a single-vehicle collision.
After two long, exhausting weeks of work in the Texas heat of the Odessa oil fields and a few more days to go, husband, father, son and friend George Chinea started to make his way to get dinner Friday evening. Unfortunately, there was a single-vehicle accident which was fatal and took George's life.
George was due to make his way back to Dallas to his wife and two boys, George III and Michael on Tuesday, August 18th.
Words cannot express the loss his family and friends are feeling today. A part of our hearts is gone. George was larger than life and the world already feels so much smaller without his joyful presence.
Many of you have already been made aware of what happened, and we thank you for your prayers and continued support while allowing the family the time they need to grieve and make the necessary arrangements.
George’s love for his family and friends was immense. Everything he did was to provide for those he loved. Now it's our turn to do what we can for George and his loved ones. He leaves behind Lauren and his twin sons, who just turned 1 this past June.
Anything you can do to help with the unexpected costs of George's services will be greatly appreciated. After expenses for the funeral, any remaining donations will go into a fund for his sons.
Updates and service details will be posted here as we receive them from the family.
