James and I never thought we’d be writing these words. On the morning of Monday, December 22, our beautiful, brave Freya left this world. While she was in remission from leukemia and continuing maintenance treatment, complications from a viral infection proved too great for her compromised immune system. We are beyond devastated and feel adrift. We have lost a part of us, and our hearts are shattered. Our family is still learning to navigate our new reality. There are so many things we are processing right now, and we will do our best to lean into our community and all your kind offers of support. One thing we know for sure, the world was a better place with Freya in it.

In honor of our darling Freya, we want to give back to the wonderful organizations that helped us in the last year of Freya's fight with leukemia. We are starting this GoFundMe to cover Freya's funeral expenses and to donate to the following organizations: Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Cal's Angels, Cancer Support Center, Christmas Without Cancer, and Project Fire Buddies.

Thank you everyone for loving our family. We wanted much more time with Freya, but the time we had with her, she was loved completely, and fully, and intensely every day. We'll miss that the most. We're going to need your love and support in the weeks to come.
