In Memory of Freddy: Prevent Future Tragedies

Help Us Honor Freddy & Protect Other Cats

On Friday, June 27th, our beloved neighborhood cat Freddy was brutally mauled by two pit bulls in Washington Heights. Witnesses reported that these dogs were encouraged to attack him by cruel individuals.

Freddy wasn’t just any stray — he was a friendly, loving cat who belonged to a local business. He stayed close to his territory and brought joy to everyone who passed by. Freddy greeted neighbors, brought smiles to children, and was loved by an entire community.

Tragically, his gentle spirit did not protect him from this senseless act of violence. He didn’t know that simply roaming around people he trusted would become a death sentence. Freddy’s absence leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

We are raising funds to cover Freddy’s cremation service so we can give him the dignified farewell he deserves. Any additional funds will be used to help other friendly, dumped cats by creating a safe holding space for them — to prevent tragedies like this from happening again.

Your support will not only honor Freddy’s memory but will also help protect vulnerable cats in our community.

Please consider donating and sharing this page. Together, we can make sure Freddy is remembered with love and help give other cats a chance at a safer life.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
