We Will Remember Forever -  Frank A Olivieri

Francis Anthony Olivieri, beloved husband of Rosemarie, Father of Frank Joseph and Nicholas Anthony (deceased), "Papa" to Stephanie Rose, Francis Rosario and Nichole Bernadette, Uncle & Guardian to Alexander Mathe and Father in Law to Lisa Marie and Tricia Rose passed away on Tuesday, 19 January 2021.

Prior to retiring, Frank spend 40+ years in the meat business bringing a level of service and engagement to his customers before it was 'vogue' to buy custom cuts of meat from a butcher shop. For his employees and co-workers, many of which turned out to be his closest friends, they would sigh at the extra work my Father would cause for them just to go the extra mile to 'delight' his customers. This only scratches the surface of who my Father was.

The number of close friends and family in his life are immeasurable. He particularly loved and bonded with those who shared a similar view as he did with regards to politics, fishing, hunting, and family. You could refer to his male friends as 'men's men' and female friends as those who liked to listen to his very black and white views of the world either because they supported it or found it entertaining. This is who he was, we loved him for it and laughed with him out loud.

He had a life-long love affair with my Mother Rosemarie... and the outdoors. While he loved my Mom and spent 50+ years married, his second love was fishing and hunting, and I mean with all of the trimmings. Not just the activities, but the time he spent with the people he truly enjoyed doing this with. Eating, drinking and most of all the conversation about everything and anything, as long as it ended with a positive spin, aligned with his way of seeing the world and was filled with big laughs and smiles. My Father was an eternal optimist and was always ready to have a good time, with friends, family and even strangers.

My Father excelled at being a Father. There are so few Fathers today that take the time he took to teach us about life. The range he had was unrivalled, from cars, to motorcycles, to guns, to archery, to fishing, to boating, to hunting, to woodworking, to plumbing, any aspect of practical life that would allow us to be self-sufficient in any situation he took time out to teach my brother Nick, Alex and I. His only rule was 'no waste'! We remodeled an entire 3,000 square foot log home in the mountains with virtually no waste other than sawdust.

While his love ran deep for his family and his friends, his most prized gift in life were his grandchildren. He took extreme pride in his three grandchildren Stephanie Rose (16), Francis Rosario (15) and Nichole Bernadette (13) for whom we saw him do things he had never done before in his life. As a former United States Army Corporal graduating from the "University of Vietnam", he was ready at a moment's notice to take a trip with his grandchildren. Whether it was a drive to Captree, going to Atlantis Bahamas, a trip to Stroudsburg, PA to see Thomas the Train, traveling across the country to explore Alcatraz, a drive down US-1, putting our feet in the Pacific Ocean, eating a Mel's Diner in LA, going to Disneyland, trucking across the Mojave Desert to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and ending up at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. He was never happier than when he was with his grandchildren. Watching them excel in school, in music and in baseball, softball, football and basketball were his most prideful times.

My Father took fashion cues from no one. His signature everyday look was wearing one of his many T-shirts supporting his favorite associations, military branch or police departments, his elastic waist shorts worn just at the navel, a pair of no brand sneakers, that were always accompanied with a "Vietnam Veteran" ball cap except in election years, where he would wear a hat with his choice for President. He kept it simple and why not, being shipped off to war before 18 years old can do that to a person.

His passing is crushing and far too early for all of us, my Father will be missed dearly. Most of all by me. I owe everything I have and will accomplish in this life to him. I have always been hard driving with the goal of giving my family everything they want and to pay him back for all he gave me. I will miss him every minute of every day. I already find myself talking to him hoping I get some of the guidance he always provided me somehow, some way. God Bless you Dad, the hole in my heart will never be filled without you.

Our love to all.
