My name is Gabby Mercado and I am asking for help on behalf of my dad, Humberto Mercado, for the sudden passing of my cousin and his nephew, Fernando Mendoza. Fernando suffered from unexpected complications after an outpatient thyroid surgery on February 5th. Although his family and doctors did all they could do, he was unable to survive the complications. He passed peacefully with his wife, kids, and family by his side on February 14th, 2025 a day before his 49th birthday.

Fernando was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son, and friend to many. His family’s wish is to lay him to rest in his hometown in Michoacán, Mexico, where his mother, father, and siblings will be able to say their final goodbye and see him for the last time.

Please help the family raise money to make this happen and help with the sudden costs of these unexpected arrangements. He leaves behind his wife, Gabby, and his three children, Emily, Daniela, and Fernandito. No money could ever replace their loss, but any help, whether donations or prayers, is greatly appreciated to help the family get through this and give Fernando his dream of returning to his hometown to see his parents and siblings.
