In Memory of Fellow Airman Jacob W. Askew: Family Support

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Fellow Airmen,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news of the passing of our beloved brother in arms, Jacob W. Askew. Jacob was more than just a fellow airman—he was an incredible friend, a steadfast leader, and a true inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His infectious smile, unwavering dedication, and genuine kindness touched so many lives, and it's heartbreaking to think that he's gone far too soon. We all feel this loss deeply, as if a piece of our family has been taken away.

Jacob served with honor and passion, always putting others first and leading by example. Whether it was during drill, training, or just hanging out off-duty, he had a way of making everyone feel valued and supported. He was the guy who'd crack a joke to lighten the mood during tough times or lend a listening ear when someone needed it most. Losing him like this is a profound reminder of how fragile life can be, and my thoughts are constantly with his family as they navigate this unimaginable grief.

In honor of Jacob's memory, I've started this GoFundMe to support his family during this difficult time. The funds raised will go directly toward covering funeral costs and any other immediate needs they might have—whether it's travel expenses for loved ones, memorial services, or simply helping ease the financial burden as they heal. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and show the family just how much Jacob meant to all of us.

I also want this to be a space where we can share our condolences, stories, and memories of Jacob. Please feel free to leave messages in the comments—I'll personally compile them and deliver them to his family, along with the funds we've raised. I'll be there in person to pass along our collective support, ensuring they know they're not alone in this.

If you can, please donate and share this campaign with others who knew and loved Jacob. Together, we can honor his legacy and provide some comfort to those he left behind.

With deepest sympathy and gratitude,
Joshua Mendez
