Dear Family & Friends,
Federico Ruiz, 70, of Waukegan, went home to Jesus on December 20, 2020 due to complications from Covid-19. Beloved Father of Orlando and Emilio Ruiz; loving family member and a great friend.
Federico was born in Mexico in 1950, grew up in Villanueva Zacatecas. He was known as Freddy by his close friends and family. Growing up he was a very loved person by everyone, each place he lived he left valuable impressions and memories.
He fought all the way to the end. Doctors and nurses caring for him stated they had never seen anyone fight to stay alive as much as Freddy. Much like his final days he lived with boundless amounts of strength, courage, and determination. While in the hospital he got diagnosed with pneumonia and COVID-19. During his stay he went through a heart attack due to lack of oxygen and blood clots. After his heart attack he had to be on dialysis and blood thinner to reduce his bloods clots and the risk of another heart attack.
Freddy was always a pleasant person to be around. He was easy going and despite the overwhelming obstacles that life threw at him, he maintained a positive attitude and his humor. Family and friends who knew him know that he would always make people laugh and feel at ease.
Freddy fought the good fight, and now we all know he is in heaven resting in peace with GOD and catching up with his beloved wife "Florinda Patricia Escobar Badillo" that had passed away 7 years ago. We will forever remember Freddy in our hearts as he will never be forgotten.
All donations from this fund will go directly to his son to help with any funeral and burial arrangements to help him through this difficult time. Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer, and I in turn will comfort you and hold you near. And never, never be afraid to die, for I am waiting for you in the sky."

Federico Ruiz, 70, de Waukegan, se fue a casa con Jesús el 20 de diciembre de 2020 debido a complicaciones del Covid-19. Amado Padre de Orlando y Emilio Ruiz; miembro cariñoso de la familia y un gran amigo.
Federico nació en México en 1950, creció en Villanueva, Zacatecas. Sus amigos cercanos y familiares lo conocían como Freddy. Al crecer fue una persona muy querida por todos, cada lugar que vivió dejó valiosas impresiones y recuerdos.
Luchó hasta el final. Los médicos y enfermeras que lo cuidaban dijeron que nunca habían visto a nadie luchar tanto por sobrevivir como Freddy. Al igual que en sus últimos días, vivió con una cantidad ilimitada de fuerza, coraje y determinación. Mientras estaba en el hospital, le diagnosticaron neumonía y COVID-19. Durante su estadía sufrió un infarto por falta de oxígeno y coágulos de sangre. Después de su ataque cardíaco, tuvo que someterse a diálisis y anticoagulantes para reducir los coágulos de sangre y el riesgo de otro ataque cardíaco.
Freddy siempre fue una persona agradable. Era fácil de llevar y, a pesar de los abrumadores obstáculos que la vida le arrojó, mantuvo una actitud positiva y su humor. Los familiares y amigos que lo conocieron saben que siempre haría reír a la gente y sentirse a gusto.
Freddy peleó la buena batalla, y ahora todos sabemos que está en el cielo descansando en paz con DIOS y poniéndose al día con otras familias que han fallecido. Siempre recordaremos a Freddy en nuestros corazones, ya que nunca lo olvidaremos.
Todas las donaciones de este fondo irán directamente a su hijo para ayudar con los arreglos funerarios y de entierro para ayudarlo en este momento difícil.
