In Memory of Fausto Segura

Fausto Segura

Born in the Dominican Republic, Fausto Segura came to the United States to pursue his dream of becoming a Major League Baseball Player. In 2017, Fausto signed a contract with the Washington Nationals Organization and got his shot at the Big Leagues. Lovingly nicknamed, "El Patron", Fausto was cherished and respected by every teammate and coach he came in contact with.

Last season, Fausto pitched 17 games for the Auburn DoubleDays (Single-A) recording 33 strikeouts over 28 innings while commanding a 3.21 ERA. Fausto's repertoire featured a rocket fastball, flashing Major League velocity, that was used to carve-up opposing batters. His impressive season earned him the opportunity to pitch in the League All-Star game last Fall.

Tragically, Fausto passed away on Sunday, January 12th, 2020. My family and I were lucky to have hosted Fausto while he pitched last season. He was always a joy to have around the house and brought a smile to each one of us. Fausto was an extremely thoughtful individual and worked hard to contribute to his family back home.  He quickly became apart of our family as well.

In memory of Fausto, we are raising money to send to the Segura Family in the Dominican. Please consider contributing, any donation is meaningful and will make an impact for the Segura's.
