Hello, my name is Simone and I am raising funds for the internment of my daughter's ashes. Our precious daughter Eve died on October 6th 2019, following complications from heart surgery. She had undiagnosed agenesis of the lungs and died while intubated in ICU, 17 days following surgery. I was 39 weeks pregnant at the time and gave birth to her sister 12 days later.

At that time I was in complete shock, needing to look after a newborn, disconnected from God and displaced from my home. I decided to cremate her so that I didn't have to let her go or bury her in a state that was not my home. I have kept her ashes with me, but it never felt quite right to have her in a box.

Having returned to my faith, my priest has suggested internment of the ashes and it feels right, like I am taking care of her. I plan to purchase a burial plot, in perpetuity, so that her ashes will never be disturbed. It is a Catholic cemetary that is currently spending thousands to repair and maintain graves that are hundreds of years old. It feels safe to finally lay her to rest there. I will value a place to visit and honour her., and I know some people in my family will appreciate a ceremony to remember her. The funds will go to purchasing the plot and if additional funds can be raised, a headstone memorial.
