My name is Monique, Erica’s sister-in-law.

I’m organizing this go fund me on behalf of Erica’s Husband, Leonel and Erica’s parents, Robert and Maricela. All funds will be going to Leonel and Erica’s parents for medical and funeral expenses.

With a heavy heart, I share that my beloved wife, Erica, passed away on June 9, 2025, at 3:06 PM after a brave and relentless fight against stage 4 uterine carcinosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

About Erica

Erica’s life was a beautiful example of strength, kindness, and love. She began her career in education as an Instructional Support Specialist and, through hard work and passion, became a beloved teacher with over a decade of experience. She didn’t just teach—she transformed lives.

Her students looked up to her as a mentor, a role model, and someone who believed in them even when they didn’t believe in themselves. Former students still reach out to say how “Ms. B” changed their lives—encouraging them to pursue college, overcome hardships, and become their best selves.

The Heart of Her Family

Outside of the classroom, Erica was the party planner, the glue, and the joy of every family event. Whether it was a birthday, holiday, or just a weekend dinner, Erica brought everyone together. She filled every room with laughter, warmth, and love. She was the one who made sure everyone felt seen and cared for.

Her Battle and Our Ask

Erica endured months of chemotherapy, hospital stays, emergency procedures, and constant care. Despite the pain, she never lost her spark. Her fight was nothing short of heroic.

As we now navigate life without her, we’re also facing the financial burden of medical bills and funeral costs. This is why I am reaching out—to ask for your help.
