We all each of us live in a time of unsurety. We mistrust the leadership of our societies; we question our standing amongst our friends, family, and our communities; we challenge love as we have it or the hope for which we seek to one day discover; we suspect the strangers around us; we wonder about the security of our jobs; we doubt the existence of a Higher Power. We wonder, we ponder, and we return to our little worlds with few answers or, as is most often the case, with no answers at all. But amongst all of the worries and all of the fears, there stands alone an indisputable, omnipotent truth:
That life, in all its forms and essence, is precious.
Enoch Kong was a force to be reckoned with. He was a radiant being who lived every moment of his life with unrestrained passion and focused fervor. Known for his charisma and unquenchable spirit, Enoch never left a room without adding a lasting smile or two to those who remained. He exuded joy of the purest form from a seemingly bottomless source and he never failed to add a little shine to each of our individual worn states of being. But Enoch wasn't just a good time--he was a friend, a brother, a son, a colleague and by every discernable metric, Enoch was a very special and extraordinary person that touched each of us down to the deepest depths of our souls. He was all that and much, MUCH more.
For those of us that knew him, it was no secret that Enoch was fighting many battles. But all were waged in a struggle in which we all individually are well acquainted--the striving towards something bigger and better not only in service to ourselves, but for all who may be touched by our testimony and existence.
On the morning of Wednesday, the 15th of October, 2025, Enoch Kong fought his final battle in the back of an EMS transport where he suffered a sudden and fatal cardiac arrest while in transit to a local medical emergency facility. Enoch was a fighter to the very end and his departure will be felt deeply and painfully by all who knew him. Truly, no one is ever prepared for the death of a loved one, especially one as young, vibrant, and cherished as Enoch. Our hearts go out to all who will be impacted by this tragedy, but especially so to Enoch's immediate family.
As the family takes this time to mourn this incredible loss, we ask for your thoughts and prayers in this time of indescribable difficulty. But while thoughts and prayers are invaluable in and of themselves, there persists an increasingly growing financial burden to be shouldered by the family of Enoch Kong. To help ease this burden, we wish to call upon the network of family, friends, and acquaintances of the Kong family to help support them as they navigate the insurmountable task of saying goodbye to their son and brother. No sum is too small nor too great and any contribution you are able to offer will be forever cherished. That being said, we also know that economic volatility has put many of us in precarious financial insecurity. To those who are unable to assist financially at this time, we humbly request instead that you offer your support by sharing this fundraiser with your network. This may seem like a small, inconsequential act, and maybe that's true, however, recall the mighty oak and the small, inconsequential acorn from whence it came.
Thank you for your time and support in whatever form that may come. As you go about your day, please remember when you wake in the morning, while you navigate your daytime duties, and before you bed for the night, think of those who you hold most dear. Hold them close in your arms and that much tighter in your hearts. Treasure them. Life is sacred. Life, in all its forms and essence, is impossibly, beautifully precious.
