In Loving Memory of Emma
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Emma Mackay, a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She was a dedicated employee who worked over 21 years at Rite Aid before recently beginning a new chapter with Walgreens.
On September 18th, while driving home from work, Emma suffered a severe asthma attack and bravely tried to get herself to Urgent Care. She collapsed upon arrival and went into cardiac arrest. Although doctors were able to restart her heart, she never regained meaningful brain activity. Surrounded by her loved ones, she was peacefully taken off life support and passed away on September 22, 2025.
Along with her mother and siblings, Emma leaves behind her beloved son, Kael, her only child. They shared an unbreakable bond. To Kael, Emma was not only his mother but also his best friend. He is devastated by this loss and now faces a future without the person who loved him most.
Along with the heartbreak of losing Emma far too soon, her family is now faced with unexpected financial challenges. Certain resources they had been counting on to help secure the family’s future are no longer available. In addition to the unexpected costs that come with the end of one’s life, and medical bills as well, her son, Kael, is shouldering the heavy burden of making sure Emma’s home and mortgage remain secure for her mother.
Many have asked how they can help, and this fund has been created to provide support with immediate expenses. Your kindness and generosity will make a meaningful difference, easing some of the burdens while the family focuses on healing. We are asking for your help to honor Emma’s memory and support her family during this unimaginably painful time.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly towards end-of-life decisions, medical costs, housing stability for her mother, and while also supporting Kael as he grieves this unimaginable loss and begins to navigate life without his mom.
If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please share this fundraiser so that others may learn of Emma’s story.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support.
