The child you see in the picture is Emily. She was taken from us too soon. She was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease at age 14. Emily passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2026, at the age of 16. Emily stayed strong throughout her illness, her dialysis treatments, and doctor's visits. Even though in pain, she always had a positive outlook and a smile on her face.
Emily loved her family dearly, as well as her animals. She could always light up a room as she entered it. Some of her favorite pastimes included painting, arts and crafts, and gardening. She was part of the Shamokin Area School District swim team and loved diving. As a seasonal employee at the Shroyer/Strausser pool, she also volunteered and assisted with special activities where she could.
Emily was very involved and always assisted with activities that were sponsored by the Shamokin Police Department.
Emily was a beautiful young lady and was loved by all that she encountered in her short time on earth. Because of her sudden and unexpected passing, funeral expenses and outstanding hospital bills have become very overwhelming and have left my family struggling to pay bills. I thank you all in advance; anything helps.
