Four years ago, we lost Alicia. Three and a half years ago, we lost Emily. They were twin sisters—two remarkable young women with their whole lives ahead of them. They were daughters, sisters, mothers, aunties, friends, and the World to everyone. Their loss has left a space not only in our family, but in the hearts of so many friends and loved ones who knew them.

It has taken time for all of us to find the right way to honor Alicia and Emily in a way that truly reflects who they were. They shared a deep love for the outdoors—fishing, hiking, and spending time near the river brought them peace and joy. Nature was where they felt most alive and most themselves.

We have decided to adopt a memorial bench along the river in Boise in their honor. This bench will be a place for family, friends, and anyone who loved Alicia and Emily to come and feel close to them. A place to sit, reflect, talk to them, remember shared moments, or simply be still in the beauty they loved so much.

Once the bench is placed, we will share the exact location so that anyone who wishes may visit, spend time there, and remember Alicia and Emily in their own way.

The cost to adopt the bench for a 20-year term is $3,650. Our hope is that this bench becomes a shared space of remembrance—a quiet, grounding place where their spirits are felt, their memories live on, and their presence is never far.
