In Memory of Emica Loralie Jackson-Miller

As many of our local community are aware, Emica passed away on the 11th December 2021 after sadly being involved in a road traffic collision on Queensway, Torquay on 25th November.

Since their tragic loss, Emica’s family have not only endured the unimaginable heartbreak of losing a child but, also immediately begun a tireless fundraising campaign for the Wallace and Gromit Grand appeal at Bristol Children’s hospital. The support they were given by the charity is priceless and their efforts to raise for this appeal are amazing, especially whilst they deal with their own grief but we feel, that they need to take time out and grieve as a family and relieve themselves of the pressures of everyday life whilst they come to terms with their loss.

For this reason, a group of Emica’s friends (and former teacher) from both Sherwell Valley Primary, the school she attended for 7 years and those she continued on with and met during her time in year 7 at Torquay Academy, would like to raise money to enable Emica’s family to take a holiday/break away and create a lasting memory of their precious daughter. Every family needs a break away to rest and relax and Emica’s family more than ever!

The children will be walking from Torquay harbour side to Brixham via the coastal route (approx 8.5 miles) which is quite a trek for a group of 11 and 12 year olds!

We currently have 6 of Emica’s friends and her primary school teacher from Year 6 involved but would love to gain as much support as possible and it really is, the more the merrier so if you would like to join us then please let us know!

We hope you all feel as passionately about supporting Emica’s family as we do.

We are planning the walk for Saturday 26th February (weather dependant ).
