In Memory of Elizabeth “Sis” Martinez

Elizabeth Jean Martinez (Lizzy/Sis) passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 27, 2020. She was proceeded in death by her mom and best friend Marian Martinez (Merna).
Sis was born in Gatesville, Texas to Ruben and Marian. They moved to Michigan in 1996. She went to Eaglecrest Charter Academy and from there to West Ottawa High School. She then moved to New Mexico with her family in 2006. Eventually they returned to Michigan to be with family.
Sis was an amazing woman. She was caring and understanding and wore her heart on her sleeve. She would go out of her way to help you in any way if she could. She was the girl that would sing loudly in the car with you to bad 90's music or current rap. She would do the little things that she knew annoyed you, because it was "our" thing. She would send a heartfelt text that would make you cry or a crazy picture to make you laugh or a simple "I love you. Have a great day!". She was a great daughter, sister, auntie and friend.
She is survived by her father Ruben Martinez, siblings Ruben, Gabe, Rebecca, Meekah, Keegan, and Amnaya. nephews Tristin and Jaythan, nieces Lyana and Sorya, extra parents Paul and Jen, Aunt Crystal and Sharon, cousins Josiah, Hillary, Gabby and Jordan. Along with many many friends.
A celebration of life will take place, details are yet to come and will be posted here.
