In Memory of Elise Maria
I want to dedicate my birthday to my sweet little angel above. You have changed us in ways that forever and always mark our hearts. The bond you have created with your unconditional love, will forever flourish through your mom and dad. My heart breaks over and over for you but, God knows me best and I know that he is using you for a purpose greater than I could’ve given you. It all seems so unfair. What I would do to stay in the dreams where I got to hold you, heard you cry, breastfeed you and looked at your precious little heart shaped lips…with that dark black, thick curly hair. I’m grateful for those moments in my dreams with you. I will forever cherish those eight months, in which God allowed me to live my motherly purpose for you. I remember praying and asking him to show you to me one more time…and he did, I dreamt her one last time June 8th, the day before I birthed her and found peace in that purple room.
I’m asking kindly and humbly for your help. The midwife birthing center in Miami is run by four of the MOST kindhearted and nurturing ladies. They are hard working empathetic women and have been in practice over 25 years. They made me feel at home and believed in me, even when I didn't believe in myself. They went above and beyond, and gave me the birthing experience I wanted with my girl. Elise was born after two hard and long days of natural labor. As a way of showing appreciation for their patience and kindness, I would love to give back to these women who have guided me, cared for me, mentored me and wholeheartedly showed so much love for my sweet little girl.
After my last postpartum appointment, I asked if they needed help with anything or any donations. Carol then replied “YES! Do you know an A/C guy, because our birthing facility central A/C unity is giving out on us.” It has been a hot summer, as all of you know, and they have at least three to four births weekly. I can say that during my long two days of labor I truly enjoyed the cool air. Any donation would help these women continue doing such an amazing job at making other mothers feel at home. By the grace of God, I would love for us to give back however we can, to all the future mamas in labor and to the Miami Birthing Center, who bring new life into this world every day...in Elise’s memory, Amen.
With My Whole Heart,
