Our beloved friend Eli Medina went home to be with the Lord on January 24, 2022. Eli was the most amazing man who served as the facilities manager at St. John Vianney Catholic School for over 15 years. He put loving care into everything he did at SJV and somehow made everyone who encountered him feel special. He started everyday greeting each of us with "What a beautiful day".

 

In early December Eli strained a muscle and soon discovered it was painful to walk. When he finally went to the doctor, Eli just kept working through the pain, it was discovered he had prostate cancer that metastasized into the bones. Just a month later he was rushed to the hospital and two days later he was gone.

 

For Eli, this was best. He always said he'd never retire, "What would I do?", he wanted to be carried off from SJV. However, it has been very difficult for his wife of 46 years, Susan. As well as his children, grandchildren and family. His SJV family (students, faculty, staff & parents) is at a loss without him! It was such a shock for us all and has been difficult to process. Needless to say he is greatly missed!

 

We are starting this Go Fund Me for the Medina family to help with the funeral costs, medical costs and just to get through this challenging time. They are grateful and appreciative of your support! All proceeds go directly to the Medina family.
