Our beloved Edward recently passed on the 4th of May.
Edward was a kind, loving Father who touched the lives of many throughout his life. He leave’s behind his Wife Leetia, his 6 children Amoudla, Emily, Maranda, Jason, Neeann, and Allan-Marie.
Edward was a successful businessman who dedicated his life to his family. Edward was a man who was always willing to lend a helping hand, and never expected anything in return. Originally from a quant little community called Tickle Cove, Newfoundland, he found his love for the community of Iqaluit in the early 1980's. Edward was exceedingly kind to anyone he crossed paths with, and always helped anyone in any way that he can.
We are all devastated by Edward’s loss and we will carry him in our hearts forever. Edward will be laid to rest in his hometown of Tickle Cove, Bonavista, Newfoundland where he will join his family. Edward was a man who lit every room he entered, and always knew how to make people laugh. He loved meeting people and chatting with everyone he came across, that was just the kind of man Edward was.
Edward was diagnosed with Colon Cancer 5 years ago and had battled it since. After being told that it cannot be cured, the best choice was palliative care. During his palliative care, Edward also faced many other hardships with his health. Although he was battling his health, he always had a positive attitude.
We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Edward’s funeral. We are hoping to raise as much as we can to help cover all the costs associated with laying Edward to rest.
Some of the costs associated are as follows:
1. Costs with the Qikiqtani Funeral Services in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
2. Embalming with Kelly Funeral in Kanata, Ontario.
3. Shipping from Iqaluit to Nowfoundland
4. Fewer’s Funeral Services in Clarenville, Newfoundland.
5. Casket
6. Airline tickets for his 2 daughters Amoudla and Neeann who took the trip during the pandemic to ensure Edward’s wish of being laid to rest in his hometown be granted.
Please consider donating, as any amount will truly help our family during this difficult time.
Thank you so much from Edward’s family, and we hope you have a wonderful day.
Yours truly,
Edward’s Family.
