Edwin Balli, past on Saturday, July 4th 2020 "Edwin or Ed as he was known to his family and coworkers passed away in Sacramento surrounded by his wife Miriam and their six (6) children. Ed was a san Francisco native who attended his first three years of high school in Harlingen, Texas. His family relocated back to San Francisco in the early 80's, where he graduated from Galileo High. Edwin joined the San Francisco Institutional Police in 1995 which at that time was overseen by the Department of Public Health. In May 2003, the Institutional Police function was transferred to the "Office of the Sheriff'. Institutional Police Officers were given the option of remaining Institutional Officers, or transitioning to become Deputy Sheriff's. Ed decided he would transition, and was sworn in as a deputy sheriff in December 2005. Edwin will be remembered as a kind, compassionate man. He always had a smile on his face.

Edwin Balli APRIL 12, 1965 – JULY 4, 2020 Edwin Balli was born on April 12, 1965 and passed away on July 4, 2020 and is under the care of Mount Vernon Memorial Park. Funeral Service will be held on July 25, 2020 at 12:00 pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Ln, Fair Oaks, CA.
Ed was a selfless person, and would do anything he could to not only help other people, but his Brother’s in Blue, as well. Courage, Honor, and Respect is how Deputy Ed Balli served. May we always remember Deputy Sheriff Ed Balli. He will always be remembered as a Hero! He will always be remembered for his upbeat and positive spirit and that smile. Forever in our hearts and never forgotten.
The fundraising will help raise funds for Ed's funeral, but to also donate any of the unused funds to the Sheriff’s Catastrophic Relief fund. The Balli family feel it would honor their father’s memory, to be able to donate the unused funds to the cause that Ed lived for. Also helped him in his remaining years. He will always be remembered for his positive attitude and smile.
This fund is being set up to collect funds for his wife Miriam and six (6) children.
The family appreciates all of the prayers and support extended during this time.
Transparency of funds and friendship (campaign policies), All money raised from this campaign will go directly to Ed Balli family. It will cover any necessary costs associated with his passing and help take the weight off them in this sad time.

Ed Balli was a member of the San Francisco Deputy Sheriffs' Association since his first day as a Deputy Sheriff # 1906, December 2005. Everyone Ed met loved him, best friends and he loved everyone. He will be in our hearts forever and he will be a friend forever.
