In Memory of Dr. William Martin
Donation protected
Hello Everyone, I am sure most of you know or have heard the news that we lost our father Dr. William Martin Jr, a few weeks ago, on Saturday, February 5th.
The pain and shock of his sudden and unexpected death, hurts so much, and it is still very fresh. It is hard to walk in the door at my parents’ home knowing that Dad is not there or forgetting that he’s not there! Or thinking to call him on the phone, and suddenly remembering he’s gone. I never imagined what it would be like to not have my father. My brother, William III, and sister, Erica are still trying to process this reality too. We are all feeling lost.
Our father meant the world to us, and he was second to none, but God himself. He was a great father, provider, and priest of our home. He was an example of a godly man and he dedicated his life to God, his church, and his family. Most of you know he was a great pianist, and played for his church, Home Assembly, for 50 years. His words of wisdom guided us as children and young adults. He was loving being a grandfather and getting to enjoy our children. He was well loved and respected by all who knew him. Our father was a servant, living a life dedicated to God and family. He was an astute Bible teacher, and set the example before us, he lived what he taught.
We are now trying to gather to support our mother, his widow, who is for the first time alone, without her husband. Dad was her life, her love, her best friend, and her soulmate. He was her loving husband of 42 years; they had been together since they were high school sweethearts. Mom is overwhelmed with grief and we don’t want her to be worried about anything or have any fear, just peace. We are doing all we can to help her get through this and help get everything ready. We, as a family, are preparing to commemorate and celebrate his life with everyone. The Homegoing Service is scheduled for March 12th, at 11am, at Home Assembly. We are trusting God to get all of us through this, one day at a time.
We are requesting you to keep us in prayer and for you to assist us with donations to help us prepare for all that is needed.
We thank you in advance and sincerely appreciate all of your prayers, your calls, your texts, monetary donations, and your ongoing emotional and spiritual support.
