In memory of Dr Afzal Ansari

Our dearest colleague Dr Afzal Ansari, Consultant Physician unfortunately lost his battle against COVID-19 on 22nd December 2020.
Afzal was a truly dedicated NHS Consultant who worked at BHRUT since 2014. He worked mainly at Queens Hospital, and most recently was responsible for treating covid patients on the Elderly Care wards.
Those who knew him remember him as an extraordinary person, colleague and friend. He was a hard-working, approachable and dedicated doctor.
He was particularly notable for his ‘can-do’ attitude and supportive nature, and was well-liked by patients and staff. He will be a huge loss to colleagues and all the students he has taught and inspired over the years.
Upon receiving numerous messages in the last few days several people asked if they could make a donation in Afzal's memory. This page is set up to raise money for a memorial at Queens hospital where he served most of his time. Any excess funds collected will be donated to his wife Ayesha and three children.
Please contribute any amount you feel comfortable giving so that we can celebrate Dr Afzal Ansari and his service to BHRUT.
