In Memory of Dorothy Mucha: Support for Emilie

My name is Deonna and I am creating this GoFundMe in loving memory of my friend, Dorothy Mucha, and in support of her 14-year-old daughter, Emilie Ashcraft.
Dorothy Mucha tragically passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Her passing was sudden and unexpected, just shy of her 46th birthday.
Dorothy’s son, Nicholas Mucha, and Emilie’s father preceded Dorothy in death. May they rest in peace.
Dorothy leaves behind many friends, coworkers, and family members.
To tell you a bit about Dorothy:
She was a tiny woman with a larger-than-life personality. Her laughter was contagious, and she would always joke that she was not a person you want to put on speakerphone.
Dorothy was a supportive and loving friend. She didn’t tell you what you wanted to hear; she told you the truth. Although sometimes a bit rough around the edges, her heart was pure gold.
Dorothy loved the beach; her happy place was the Indiana Dunes Beach. She loved country music. More than anything in the world, she loved her children, the late Nicholas, and her daughter, Emilie. Dorothy was fluent in Polish, she loved Mexican food, and going out to eat. You wouldn’t often spot Dorothy and Emilie without their best friends, Kristin Borek, and daughters, Hailee and Aubrey, who love Dorothy like an aunt.
The unexpected nature of Dorothy’s passing has left her family with unexpected financial challenges. No one planned to lose her this soon, least of all, her daughter Emilie.
Additionally, Emilie is making her sacrament of Confirmation soon, as well as graduating the 8th grade and traveling out of state with her class (a trip that Dorothy continually and pridefully prioritized for Emilie to experience).
Emilie will also have future life and educational expenses. Dorothy was so proud of Emilie’s interest in early childhood education and wanted her to continue on after 8th grade, not only to receive her high school diploma but also college degree(s) in the field.
100% of the proceeds donated to this GoFundMe will go to Emilie Ashcraft to provide for her current expenses, and in the event we are able to surpass that goal, to be held in a trust for the future, as she attains the age of 18.
