In Memory of Donnie: A Beloved Family Man
Donation protected
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donnie Joe Hammer, a beloved member of our community and a dedicated professional in the aviation industry. Donnie passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on January 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Donnie’s passion for aviation spanned an impressive 44-year career. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he worked on F4 aircraft, Donnie transitioned to become an airline mechanic at Borger Airport. In 2002, he joined International Aerospace Coatings (IAC), where he held various roles, including Mechanic, Quality Control Specialist, Quality Manager, and Director of Operations. His commitment to IAC and the aviation industry was unwavering, even during challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beyond his professional achievements, Donnie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, reading, and spending quality time with his family. Known for his sense of humor and practical jokes, Donnie brought joy to everyone around him.
Donnie is survived by his wife of 24 years, Roxie, his mother Zerelda, his children Troy and Shawnica, his brother Clinton, his sister Lisa, ten grandchildren, and many loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
We are raising funds to support Donnie’s family during this difficult time. The funds will help cover memorial service costs, provide financial support to his family and to BSA Harrington Cancer Center. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated and will help honor Donnie’s legacy.
Thank you for your support.
