In memory of Donna Price-Gilman
Donation protected
On the night of December 29, 2019 Donna Gilman (72), of Garland, TX. lost her 4 month long hospital battle following major surgery for a faulty heart valve and the complications that arose from it. Those 4 months were a challenge of ups, downs, complications, and being moved from facility to facility as they tried to find the best way to treat her. Donna's family and friends mourn her loss, but are pleased to say she is no longer in pain and may finally rest in peace.
This loving mother of two is survived by her son, daughter, and 3 grandchildren. Donna gave much through her life, working more than 20 years with special needs children for Garland ISD to give them the skills and ability to be semi-independent where possible. She stood beside her husband of more than 30 years until his passing in 2007 as a result of complications to medical conditions that he experienced from serving in the US Army. She never had a harsh word for anyone, and was willing to give the shirt off her back to strangers in need.
There will be a memorial of life ceremony in June after things have gotten settled and things have returned to a state of normality when friends and family from out of state can attend. Everyone attending will make sure this brave woman's actions, deeds, and memories live on in us.
The Gilman family is asking for some help to assist with settling her final arrangements and cover other expenses related to her long hospitalization.
