In Memory of Dominic: Aid for His Family

Honoring Dominic "Dom Poniac" Quant and Supporting His Children’s Future

Dear Family, Friends, and Community,

On January 28, 2025, Dominic “Dom Poniac” Quant’s life was cut short in an unthinkable act of violence. While stepping out to pick up dinner for his children, he was shot and killed. His murder was caught on camera, and the suspect is in custody, facing first-degree murder charges. Dominic leaves behind three children—Zaliyah (22), Jahzea (17), and Mateo (8)—who now face an uncertain future without their devoted father. As we grieve this heartbreaking loss, our family’s priority is to ensure that his children have the love, support, and opportunities that he always wanted for them. You can aid us in this goal.

Dominic was a creative spirit. He found joy in both music and art as well as in his work in the entertainment industry. He was a beloved father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and cherished friend–a kind-hearted, humble soul who deeply believed in family, community, and self-improvement. He lived his life in a spirit of giving and touched many. Now is your chance to give back.

We have created this Memorial & Kids’ Education Fund to help in three key ways:

1. Funeral & Memorial Costs

We seek support to provide Dom with a dignified farewell, allowing family and friends to honor his life and legacy properly.

2. Relocation Support

Dom’s family must relocate away from the site of his murder for their emotional well-being and safety. The boys are forced to relive the trauma of their dad’s murder whenever they leave their home, as they can see the scene of the crime the moments from stepping outside. Also, they don’t feel safe living next to the murderer’s family. Our goal is to keep them in the area to maintain schooling continuity for one of his sons. This includes:

Moving expenses

First and last month’s rent

Five months of rental assistance due to the loss of a rent-controlled unit in a high-cost area

3. Educational Fund for Dom’s Children

The remaining funds will be used to establish an education fund for Dom’s children, ensuring they have access to school, extracurricular activities, and the opportunities he always dreamed of for them.
