In Memory of Dimitri Zavgorodny

Two weeks ago terrible tragic news shook us to the core - our dear friend, Dimitri Zavgorodny suddenly passed away. Dima recovered from a very tough COVID just a couple of months ago. His family and friends were so relieved he made it through, but, unfortunately, this joy was premature.
Such a sweet guy, such a kind, beautiful soul. Nobody couldn't recall him a single time without this charming, boyish smile. We, his friends, everyone who knew him is stuck with the same desperate sensation of irrevocable loss of our chance for just one more conversation, just one more smile, one more joke...
However, as deep as our sorrow may be, it couldn't be compared with what his family is going through right now. Dima left behind his wife Olga and 12 years old son Timothy. He loved his family dearly and was loved by them deeper than words may describe. This sudden loss has devastated them beyond the imaginable point.
Both Olga's parents passed away one after another a couple of years ago. Even though, as friends, we try to offer whatever support we can, emotionally, physically, and financially, we feel there is more we can do to help. Dima was the main provider for his family. Olga is a self employee, whose income was interrupted for several months by the pandemic lockdown. Loss of both their sources of income along with unexpected expenses of the funeral and memorial services totally depleted all their resources.
This family desperately needs time to grieve and recover, time to regroup and adjust to their new reality, to find their way back to normal. Dima touched the lives of so many in his very own, quite, and kind way. Now it’s our turn to give back to his family in their time of sorrow.

We know these are challenging times, we understand everyone feels uncertain and worry about the future of his or her own family. But, beyond this, we all are part of the community, we have to stick together and take care of one of ours when in need. Which is why we ask you to open your hearts and donate as many as you can afford. Even a small sum could impact hugely alleviating the financial burden, help them through the worst times. Please, don't be indifferent bystanders - donate and share.
