In Memory of Dillon Franciscus: Supporting His Loved Ones

Donation protected
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dillon Franciscus, a Marine veteran, cherished son, and dear friend. Dillon served his country with honor, facing hardships that few can truly understand. Though he displayed immense strength and resilience, he also grappled with personal battles and the difficulties of transitioning to civilian life. His loss leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.

From his friend Nick Kalubowski, whom he served with in 1st Battalion 8th Marines:

"Dillon Michael Franciscus was a friend to anyone he ever met. He was kind, he was loyal, he was hilarious. Among his many, many talents, he was a damn good man and one hell of a friend. For most of us, Dillon was a brother. Dillon was a State Champion both as a Linebacker and a Coach for St. Edward's High School.

Dillon earned the title United States Marine Infantryman, where he became a part of the 1st Battalion 8th Marine Regiment. In 2021, Dillon deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan, where he saved hundreds of lives during Operation Allies Refuge. He was affectionately known by the entire Marine Corps as 'Frank' or 'Frank the Tank.' Dillon became a Karaoke Legend not only at the Wooden Nickel Saloon but anywhere he touched a microphone. Dillon could lift insane weights, he could chug an ice-cold beer faster than anyone I've ever seen. Talking football with Dillon felt like talking with an NFL coach. He could freestyle rap better than Eminem. You could ask Dillon the president and Super Bowl winner of any year, and he could not only tell you both off the top of his head but sometimes would throw in the final score and vice president just for fun.

Dillon would give you the shirt off his back and give you his last dollar. We should all aspire to be like Dillon. Anyone who was fortunate enough to know Dillon will surely remember him for eternity. We are all truly blessed to have known Dillon."

How Your Donations Will Help
To honor Dillon’s memory and support his family, we have launched this GoFundMe campaign to ensure they receive the assistance they need during this difficult time. Every donation will go directly to Dillon’s family to help cover:

Memorial and funeral expenses – Ensuring Dillon receives the service he deserves.

Support for his family’s well-being – Easing financial burdens as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.

Funds will be directly transferred to Dillon’s family through a dedicated account managed by those closest to him. We are working closely with his father and trusted members of the Marine community to ensure the donations reach their intended purpose.

How You Can Help
We know times are challenging, and any contribution—large or small—makes a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign to spread the word and reach more people who may want to support Dillon’s family.

Dillon left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please know that help is available. Seeking support is not a sign of weakness—it’s a sign of strength. Reach out, talk to someone, and know that you are never alone in this fight.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Joe Laude, Nick Kalubowski, and Mike Markland
