As many of you know, our mother passed away early December, after contracting Covid in late November, and the subsequent horrific battle with Covid19 pneumonia. As a family, we are heartbroken and numb with the sudden loss of our beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, and for many of us, our best friend. Our mother, Diane, was not just our hero - but she was a great role model to many. She dedicated her life to others through her hard work at a job she loved, through her selfless endeavors to care for other family members even when she struggled herself, and through her unconditional love for her children and grandchildren. As hard as it is right now to imagine life without her, we want to remember all the good she brought into our lives, and carry her legacy of selfless love for others into our future.
My sister and I are now faced with a new world, without Mom, and we are trying to figure out how we will navigate through the coming months. With such an unexpected loss, after a difficult hospital battle, we are facing the medical costs as well as the added cost of managing her general affairs, which unfortunately bring a greater stress to our family during this time of loss.
We have been asked by a few of her colleagues and friends if there is any way to help during this time, as well as where they can send support. It was suggested to us that this fund might be a helpful way for those who want to assist, or send condolences for our mother, as many of you may not be able to attend her memorial service, being that it is so close to the holidays. We truly appreciate any and all of your support, and kind words from those who have reached out already. My mother had a special connection with so many people she met and cared for over the years.
