On Thursday November 20th, Diane Bell met with her Thursday night running group, of which she has participated in for over a decade, and was enjoying her evening run through Portland when she was tragically struck by a vehicle and ultimately succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter. Diane was preparing to leave the very next morning to spend Thanksgiving in Florida with her family. This loss was devastatingly unexpected and has left a void in the hearts of her loved ones that will never be filled. The thing that ultimately "saved" Diane after the loss of her husband back in 2004, was the same thing that took her life. It is a hugely hard pill to swallow and has left her family, friends, and running community reeling in the wake of her death.

A GoFundMe is being set up to raise money to a cause near to Diane's heart. After we lay Diane to rest the specific cause will be decided and updated here.

The family has been met with an outpouring of love and support since the news broke and many want to know how they can help, which is where the idea for this page began. Raising money that will later be donated to benefit Diane's beloved running community will help heal the hearts of all of us mourning her.
